Year 6 Residential 2017: Day 1

Year 6 Residential 2017: Day 1

What a scorcher it has been on our first day! The children have been great at applying suncream and staying hydrated. Thank you to Annabelle’s Mum for providing us with a big bag of fruit to munch on as we unpacked.

After we’d set up our beds and had a tour of the site, we went for lunch to fuel up for the afternoon. The activities started with the traverse wall, adventure area and indoor caving. Many of the children, who said they wouldn’t do caving in a million years, ended up going through the course three times. A course so tight that one boy even managed to lose his shorts half way round (much to the amusement of the others!)

We then returned to the Rowallan building to shower and put on our glad-rags for the evening disco. The children danced the night away and played some party games. Jenna and Jemma are quite the dancing queens!

The children are now tucked up in their beds (although we can still hear the occasional giggle and whisper) resting ready for tomorrow’s activities. It promises to be another fun-filled day in the sunshine.

(Unfortunately due to issues with the wifi here on camp, we are unable to upload photos. However we are taking lots and will upload them as soon as we can. Each child will also get a CD with all the images from the trip as a keepsake to take home when we return.)
