Inter-House Poetry Festival

Inter-House Poetry Festival

Following National Poetry Day on Thursday 6th October, today saw us hold our first Inter-House Poetry Festival at school. Each year group divided into the four school house teams – London Eye, Tower of London, Wembley Stadium, St Paul’s Cathedral – and together selected or wrote a poem to perform to the rest of the school.

Poems were selected from a wide range of famous poets including Michael Rosen, Dr Seuss and Julia Donaldson. Many were delivered as performance poetry and the children showed great teamwork and courage in their performances. A special mention has to go to Pacific class who took the first line of a famous poem and then wrote their own version!

All the children spoke clearly and the festival was enjoyed by all.

Congratulations to the children from London Eye, who were the winning house. Their cup will now be displayed proudly in the school trophy cabinet.
