St Richard’s Church

We have strong links with St Richard’s Church opposite our school in Forge Lane.

Together we believe that children and young people are really special, and we try to do all that we can to welcome them and provide fun activities for them.

Many families attend church on Sundays at 10:45 am, and children aged 0-14 can attend Sunday clubs appropriate to their age group while their parents/carers worship in the main service.

Many more children and young people attend the weekly groups, which meet during term time and the details of those groups are below.

Together we are passionate about our work with children and young people. Jesus said, “Let the children come to me” (Mark 10:14). He cared about children and so do we; we want to teach them about our faith, as well as seeing them flourish and have fun.

The Vicar – Revd Craig Holmes

vicCraig has been vicar of St Richard’s Church since October 2010 and a governor since 2011.  He had a previous life as a scientist (studying London’s methane emissions) before training to be ordained, although any comments about him still being full of hot air are untrue.

Craig loves running, gadgets, motorbikes and his wife Becky and children Florence and Zach, though not necessarily in that order.

He writes,

I’m so excited about our new community school and privileged to be able to spend time with the children, both as vicar and governor. The strength of the school community and the energy of the children are both remarkable. I’ve no doubt that with children and families, staff and governors, and the church family all working together, St Richard’s can make a massive difference in its local community, especially when we remember that God is by our side.

If you’d like to know any more about the church please visit or phone the church office on 020 8898 0241.
