St Richard’s CE Primary School is a school with a strong Christian ethos, which is truly inclusive and actively celebrates diversity. Every child is valued as a unique individual treasured by a loving God. We demonstrate our commitment to this by prioritising the wellbeing and progress of every child and striving to ensure that all members of the community are treated fairly in all situations.
The Equality Act provides us with a framework to support our commitment to:
- Celebrating diversity
- Tackling discrimination
- Promoting equality, and
- Fostering good relationships between people.
It also ensures that we tackle any issue of disadvantage and underachievement of different groups in the school as soon as we find any.
As a result, we have set our Equality Objectives for 2020 – 2024 are as follows:
- To narrow the gap in attainment between disadvantaged and non-disadvantaged pupils
- To increase the percentage of White British pupils achieving the Greater Depth Standard in all year groups
- To ensure boys achieve as well as girls across all phases
We publish our Equality Objectives on a four-year cycle in line with the LDBS Academy Trust’s Equality Plan, which can be found on the Policies page.
